Back in December 1934 Richland County schools helped sell Christmas Seals in order to raise money for the County which 80% would go toward local projects, 15% would go to the State Tuberculosis Association, and the remaining 5% would go to the National Tuberculosis Association.
Everyone was urged to use the seals on all of their packages in order to bring attention to those suffering from tuberculosis. The area schools did a splendid job selling the Christmas Seals. Not only did the schools in the city but those in the rural sections of Richland County. One young student from Dentsville School, William Cooper, sold $6.76 worth of Christmas Seals.
