Writer's picture: Dentsville HistoricalDentsville Historical

If you are looking for a great book to read or thumb through during the summer months you definingly need to get "Dentsville Remembered." The book had great revies from the "Columbia Star" and "The Northeast" newspaper. If you grew up in Dentsville or the surrounding areas of Blythewood, Killian, or Pontiac this book will bring back many memories. Even if you didn't grow up in the area this book will lay out the history of Dentsville and how a small community grew into a large suburban and commercial area. There was a time in Dentsville that it had zero traffic signals and only a few roads were paved. The roads were so narrow the vehicle in front would have to pull over to allow another vehicle to pass. Decker Blvd., Parklane Rd., Farrow Rd., North Trenholm Rd., Polo Rd., Alpine Rd. and Sparkleberry Ln. were not their original names. You will learn the history of schools that were once located in the area along with churches and businesses. You will also find the names of those who once lived and helped build the Dentsville area and much more. There are over 400 pictures and maps included in the book.
