savpurvis

In December 1937, new boy scout troops were arranged by James R. Gibson, field executive for the Central South Carolina council. Both the Ridgeway and Dentsville troops were sponsored by local high schools. The Ridgeway troop had 11 members, and its Scoutmaster was J.D. Boyd, with O.J. Palmer assisting. A.R. Nicholson, Howard Snelling, J.B. Edmunds, P.R. Scott, and A.B. Hiers served on the troop committee.

Dentsville's scoutmaster was R.W. Jenkins, and its troop committee included Davis G. Eleazer, L.W. Conder, and E.W. Faries. The troop had 14 members in all.
