The Death of Benjamin F. Martin, Sr. (1885-1923)

At 3:00 a.m. at the Baptist hospital in Richland County, Dentsville citizen Benjamin Franklin Martin, Sr. died at the age of 39. He was well-known and loved by his family and a wide variety of friends and died of undisclosed causes. Benjamin by his wife, Addie Martin, had nine children: Alonzo, Ruby, Pearl, Mattie, Enoch, Gladys, Alma, Mable, Jalet and Benjamin Franklin, Jr.


Benjamin and Addie Mae Shull were married in 1906. Benjain's parents were Alvin Martin and Mallie Watson. His siblings were: Ben, James, John, Archie, Beulah, Alvin and Pearl. Benjamin is buried in Rehoboth Methodist Church Cemetery.
